Description:
The large-flowered Seattle dahlia is a rewarding summer bloom that will delight for months. Seattle blooms all summer from July until the first frosts. Seattle grows to about 70 cm. tall. This dahlia is therefore also ideal for potted planting on a patio or balcony.
Planting:
Dahlia tubers can be planted in spring. Seattle is frost sensitive, so be careful of late night frosts. Dig a roomy planting hole, loosen the soil and fill with good potting soil. Carefully place the tubers in the planting hole and cover with 3-5 cm of soil. Plant the tubers 30-60 cm apart.
Care:
Water the tubers immediately after planting. dahlias bloom most profusely in full sun. Store the tubers in a frost-free place after flowering and you can enjoy them for years. Seattle combines well with perennials and other varieties of dahlias. The pink flowers are a real eye-catcher in the border. Seattle is also an excellent cut flower and has a long vase life. The best time to pick dahlias is early in the day. Immediately place the sprouts in lukewarm water with cut flower water.
